The Jericho Walk 2019
SEPTEMBER 24TH
2019 was the inagural year for the Jericho Walk, a TPCA Parent Teacher Fellowship new tradition. The Jericho Walk was a unique opportunity for all our students to come together for worship, fun, and focused prayer. We started the event out by learning in class all week about the original Jericho Walk. How the Israelites came to be in the desert and how God was about to give them one of their greatest gifts (their own land), but that it required some obedience from them first. So conversation around following directions was key.
We prayed for each other, our loved ones and our school. Asking God to tear down the spiritual walls that either imprisioned us or walls that kept us out of the “promised land” God has given us. We walked in silence and prayed to defeat our enemy, who tries to mire us in self doubt, self-pity, selfishness, arrogance and other strongholds. We called upon Jesus, for we are more than conquerors through Him.
During our preparations for the walk we engaged our families, friends, community while raising money to support the Parent Teacher Fellowship Fundraising. More to come on this, but I can say it also was a great success.
Can you believe it, silence was achieved even from the little ones. Seven (7) trips around the school no grumbling, moaning or complaining , just silence and at the end we gave God a loud shout of praise and thanksgiving. Praise God what a success!!!! I am so proud of our students, faculty, parents and community for coming together as one Body of Messiah. Thank you !!!!
Below are some pictures from this awesome event.
THANK YOU to everyone that participated, whether walking, praying, giving, or all of the above. May God bless you!!
What we DID:
- We walked around the school seven times, upon the completion of the seventh trip we made the enemy flee through the power of praise.
- We SHOUTED AND PRAISED GOD LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!!
- We SHOUTED AND PRAISED TO DESTROY THE STRONGHOLDS IN OUR LIFE!!!
Joshua 3:5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
